Updates, updates

Well the new quarter has begun at school. I am now in College Chemistry and Medical Terminology. I have to say it seems like this quarter will be challenging but good. I loved Chemistry in high school and my professor teaches with the assumption that every one has absolutely no back ground with the subject. My terminology class, however, is online. So I will have to be more self driven for that class. I can do it though. I know I can. I find my self saying "woah" every time I learn something new or what something really means. So thats a good thing right?

Today was very pretty out. Where was I though? I was in bed with a three day old migrane. That sucked let me tell you. Its only been in the last 5 or so hours that my head has quit feeling like it was going to explode. This after noon I did acomplish some things, though they were few. I potted my 4 rose bushes, that is until I am sure that there wont be any more freezes this year, I will keep them in pots. Then we went to the store and the sucker I am, I bought 2 more of them. All of them a different color. They should look beautiful in front of my house though! I cant wait to get them in the ground. In between them there will be tulips of various colors and varieties. I only bought like 9 or so bags back when I found them on sale this fall.

Im even thinking about putting them down the length of my sidewalk in the front. We will see though. Upon inspection of our newly dried out back yard, which has been completely covered in snow since we moved in. We discovered a whole slew of planted onions. I mean we found a lot of them. So we are going to move them from the center of our yard to the area of our new garden.

Last Monday we recarpted our basement, which makes our home feel just that much closer to being finished. Our dog doesnt quite know what to think yet. He wasnt allowed down there before and now we spend most of our time down there watching tv or hanging out with him.
We found out that my older sister is having a little boy in June! Get this though, the name is terrible. Ok the first name isnt but the middle name is so gonna get the kid made fun of. Xander Wolfgang. I wish I could tell you that I am joking. That is really the name for the kid.

I am going to Texas in June to see the new kid, my family and friends. I cant wait. I can however, wait for the expense. I am doing good with my finances, Adam says Im being too hard on myself though. I know all my money is going to bills, school and all that junk, but then I look at my bank account and just feel broke instead of good about being able to pay it all on my own. Im not whining, just feel a little drained. Then he reminds me that most at my age dont own a house and balance 40 hours of work with paying their own tuition. I guess he is right. Why do I feel like Im not really accomplishing anything though? Will it finally hit me what I have done (am doing) when I have the degree and am out of school? Will it hit me when I have that amazing job and make really really good money? I sure as heck hope so.

Finally, for anyone whose been keeping tabs on me and how I never really picked a major, I did it. I picked one. I want to go into the Radiography Technician program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Think I can do it? I sure hope so! They are super picky about who they let in so heres to hoping!!!

Please Support Kris in this worthy cause

I usually dont ask my friends to participate in any of the things I am try to help with. However this time is different. My friend Kris, is participating in a Triathalon that is meant to support children with Leukemia. She is raising money for this cause though her Team In Training participation. Where I am no expert on this disease and what it does to these innocent children, I do know what it is like to loose some on I love to Leukemia. Supporting these children is one of the most worthy things we can all do. Please find it in your heart to give to these children. Giving to them will bless you and those who your gift is going to.

Thirteen Movies that I love.....
1. Top Gun... Yes I know its cheesy. But I love this movie. Besides its pre-crazy Tom Cruise. You know back when he was still just a good looking guy and didnt have the silly beliefs he presses on every one and any one who will listen...
2. Selena... Im from Texas and yeah I know some spanish music. She was one of those singers that could just capture the beauty in a song, even if you couldnt understand the words. The movie will always make me cry.
3. Over the Hedge... I love kids movies. As long as they arent, you know, like Barney or of the such. But this movie cracked me up. I love it.
4. Peter Pan... This is the one that was released Christmas a few years back. Its got cool effects and the crocodile is larger than life. I can watch it over and over.
5. Little Women... The Hepburn version. I love old movies. This movie makes me cry and laugh. Plus heck I loved the book.
6. Red Dragon... Totally one of the coolest movies. I love the Hannible Lecter stuff. It kept me on edge through out the movie, even though I had read the book.
7. About a Boy... I love Hugh Grant. I have to admit though, the first time I started watching it I turned it off. Then my best friend sat down and made me watch it with her and I loved it.
8. Love Actually... Like I said I love Hugh Grant. This movie is so funny. The old rocker guy reminds me of my birth father. He looks alot like him, acts like him, and talks alot like him. It makes me laugh.
9. Benny and Joon... This is an old, old Johnny Depp movie. It makes you really want these people to be able to love each other with out their barriers. I dont know how else to explain it if you havent seen it.
10. Secret Window... Johnny Depp again. Mix him with Stephen King, you got one heck of a movie. All I have to say is I look at corn a little differently now....
11. A Walk to Remember... Another book I just loved, turned movie. I cant help it the story grabbed me and I still cry every time.
12. The Notebook... Do I read too much???? What can I say other than "sigh." Who doesnt want a love like that???
13. Walk the Line... I cant stand, I repeat, cant stand Johnny Cash. But this movie just kills me. I really loved it. I dont think that they could have cast that movie any better. I am still at a loss for words at how well this movie was done.

Thirteen Nicknames I have accumulated....
1. "Short Cake"... This name is one given to me by my lovely sister, the munchkin, Hope. Yeah you guessed it, Im shorter than her and most of the rest of the people in my family! If any one else called me this I may hurt them severly!!
2. "Deeze"... To make a really long story short, My best buddy, Kevin, and I had two years of French together. I dont remember exactly where it originated, or out of what lesson, but this name went all the way through high school with me and now 7 years later, I will still answer to it. Though it produces strange looks when other people hear it....
3. "Turtle"... This one is my personal favorite. Yeah I know how totally dorky right? This one is the name Adam calls me. I got this because of the way I burrow into a blanket and all you can see is my head sticking out and occassionally all you see is my nose. So hes called me the turtle since we first moved in together.
4. "Wart"... Dont make fun of me! Im kidding, I dont care how silly it sounds. My mom called me this when I was a toddler because she couldnt call me a little fart infront of her grandmother. To this day she calls me her little wart and it is a name I am proud to have, since none of the other kids really have one that stuck their whole life.
5. "Amanda Lou"... Yes my name is Amanda. No Lou is not part of my given name. My co-workers call me this. I dont know exactly how it came to be but I answer to it and look at it as my way of fitting in. I love that my coworkers gave me a name.
6. "Mandie"... Now thats original... I wonder where that came from!
7. "Tex"... That one is just about explanatory, incase you didnt know though, Im from Texas. But one of the managers at work calls me that every day.
8. "Aunt Mandie"... Yep I got a nephew and a yet to be determined! Im so excited.
9. "Sistow"... My older sister, Lisa, calls me that. Especially when she wants something. It actually works most of the time too!
10. "Kid"... My brother, Matt, who is younger than me but much much taller, calls me kid. I guess though when he can lean over and put his elbow on my head, it doesnt look like his my younger sibling....
11. "Dr. Moore"... My dear friend Silile, calls me this just because she wants me to go to medical school with her. Shes the coolest person I know!
12. "Mander"... Yet another work name. My friend Gary J. calls me this. He has a daughter about my age that is also named Amanda. So it kind of comes natural.
13. And my personal favorite. "Medium"... Since I am the middle child. My step dad calls me medium, Hope is small and Lisa is Large!

Thirteen Things about The General (my puppy)...
1. He is an escape artist. We can put him in our laundry room and he will crawl through the crawl space under the stairs, and get out through the coat closet!
2. On Tuesday I went to class, about an hour in my sister in law called to tell me that the dog had broken my brand new coffee table. He knocked over a chair and broke the large oval glass on my table! Then to top that off he had ripped into the trash and spread it all over the floor!
3. The above mentioned incident caused the dog to get a kennel. With in 24 hours he figured out how to get out of that too! Adam then reinfored the thing with zip ties, so now he can not get out! The walls are sooo not coming down.
4. Ever bought your dog a toy? Did it squeak? Well these are The General's favorite toys. Funny thing to me is that most dogs try to pull the squeaky out. Not mine. He just pulls the tag off and then chews on it. Its kind of cute.
5. This dog sleeps like all day long. That is when hes not trying to escape from his shelter when we are not at home. Adam sleeps during the evening and gets up at about midnight when I get home from work. The dog sleeps the whole night with him. Then in two hours or so when Im ready for sleep, so is The General! I swear then if I take a nap after school and before work, he is sleeping too! Dang what a life.
6. He's such a funny dog. He and Adam play a game where Adam will blow a little air at his face. The dog grunts at him and tries to catch it. You would have to see it to appreciate it, but its hilarious, especially when the dog tries to snap at the air and catches Adam.
7. Today I looked out side, The General was playing in the snow. He loves the snow. I looked out and he was pulling sticks out of the snow and kind of tossing them around then running to get them and do it again. I laughed so hard because the dog really looked like he was having fun.
8. Have I mentioned how smart my dog is? Yesterday I was checking my voice mail and when a message from Adam came on, Patton went nuts. He started wagging his tail and whining because he thought Adam was home. Poor kid he was so confused, so when Adam came in yesterday after noon the dog didnt believe that it was him when he heard him start talking. It was funny when Adam walked around the corner and the dog jumped!
9. Yesterday I had to put him in the kennel for a little while, during a walk through with our insurance company. The hair on his back stood up when that man walked around the corner and took a picture of him. What a good little guard dog. I was so proud!
10. Ive mentioned already that the dog likes to sleep. Well he likes to sleep up in the bed with us. Well this is a major feat considering we have a queen size bed. Hes funny though cause he gets up on the bed, right between us then kind of lets out this moan/grunt noise as he collapses on to the bed. When he does it, the whole bed moves.
11. Adam and Patton play hide and go seek. Adam will tell him to "go find mommy" then he will go hide. When hes good and hidden he yells something at me, the I will tell him to go find him and off he goes. He will check every room until he finds him. Last night Adam hid behind the curtain in the dining room, the dog went right to him after circling the dining room table sniffing the floor. Totally cool!
12. Patton likes to watch the TV. When I watch TV in bed, he props himself up and watches it too. Then when me and Adam start talking about something, usually the history channel or animal planet, he will grunt and groan like he is talking with us. Totally the funniest thing to see.
13. For Christmas I was given these really comfy slippers, they are like socks sorta like ballet flats. My dog thinks that if he hides them I will stay in bed. So yeah now I have like 9 pairs of them. I know Im a dork! But thats pretty darn silly cause he looks confused every time I take out a new pair!

Events of Late

So, several of you have asked about the new house! I do have pictures but I havent uploaded them to this computer. So those will be to follow. But heres the latest updates!

We moved in last week on, I wanna say, Wednesday. From then on its been colder than a witches tit! But anyways. Since our closing date, on December 29th, we have painted every room in the house except the upstairs bathroom. This room is soon to follow as we cant agree on a color. So.... the room colors are.....
Master bedroom- Burgundy
Second bedroom- buttery yellow
computer room- olive(but slightly darker) green
entry way/living/dining/kitchen/hall- cake batter
Basement- Warm Caramel
Basement bathroom- sky blue with ducky border.

Now I promise the pictures are to come. The basement still has another lighting set going in and new carpet. The living room is getting new furniture as our older furniture is going in the family room (basement). The kitchen and dining area are getting pergo flooring and the master bedroom is getting the rest of the bedroom set that goes with our new bed.

Woah that was a ton of work. Yeah it doesnt even sound like it. Next project after the carpet goes in will be a shelving desk unit to go around the computer room with book shelves for storage. Im so excited about having that room look less like a room full of overflowing boxes and more like an office like it is supposed to be!

Thirteen Places I have been to and love!
1. Panama City, Florida. This was the first time I had ever been to Florida. I was on a trip with my Church Youth group. Ive been in love with Florida ever since.
2. Chattanooga, Tennessee. We stayed on top of Look out Mountain for a week. Once again this was with a Church Youth Group trip. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!
3. Chicago, Illinois. Ive been there four times now. I love that city. Each time we have done different things, and I love it a little more every time. If I had to pick a new city to move to, I think Chicago would be the one. Though I have to say that those White Sox fans were the rudest mean people in the world when we watched ball. (No offense meant if you are a fan of that team.)
4. Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas. We have gone there to watch baseball and to see the museums. If you havent been I suggest the Union Pacific Museum, the Nelson Atkins Art Museum, and the World War One Museum. These were our favorites. Not to mention I love, love, love the Plaza. GO ROYALS!
5. Miami, Florida. Vicki and I went in September last year. The city was so glamorus. I was loving the beach. We saw Johnny Versace's house, and at night people congregate around it at the gates. He was killed on the front steps apparently. Yeah Im not a fashion buff. That house was absolutely gorgeous though. South Beach, which is where this house is, was beautiful but totally overrated. Boy was I in for a shock when I realized it was a topless beach! What!
6. Corpus Christi, Texas. Yes I am from Texas. Yes, as a kid we lived there. But I dont remember it. We went for a trip with my dance team my Junior year of High School. That was a very fun city! I loved just sitting there next to the water and listening to the waves. I got a bad sun burn though!
7. Destin, Florida. Yeah I know Im a Florida addict. I went on the Johnson/Schmidt family vacation about 3 years ago. I have to say this beach was by far the most beautiful one I have ever been to. We played on the beaches, walked around the city shops, rode thrill rides at night, and ate at a ton of resturaunts. We also went on a dolphin cruise, which was by far one of the coolest things ever. They were so close we could have reached out and touched them!
8. New Orleans, Louisiana. I spent alot of time in Louisiana. We lived in Baton Rouge for a few years. So its no surprise I love this city. The people are friendly, fun and excitement is always in the air. The markets in the French Quarter give the city an old school flair. There are transvestites you would swear were real women, which dumb founds me every time. But I cant help but love this city! Not to mention the food. Oh my goodness. Its the best. The smells are rich and fragrant. The city is so full of history and life that you cant help but just stand in awe at times!
9. Orlando, Florida. Yeah we really just went for Universal Studios and the Disney Parks. What we did see of the city other than the parks was wonderful. However my favorite thing about the whole trip was really the trip to the Magic Kingdom! If you have kids, or even if you dont, make this a must do thing! It really is a place for all ages!
10. Houston, Texas. Yeah, Ok, leave me alone. Its my home town. The best time of the year to go is during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This event lasts around 3 weeks. I know it sounds like all you would see is cowboys and country music. But that is so not true. There is a concert every night of the rodeo. Some of the biggest names in the music industry line up to do a show at this event. It really is a cultural experience worth going to at least one time in your life! Not to mention the museums. If you ever get to Houston, experience the Holocaust Museum. It is a real eye opener, not to mention a great history lesson. Now if you are a sports fan, Houston has alot to offer you! They have several professional teams. The Astros (baseball), The Rockets (NBA), The Comets (WNBA), and The Texans (NFL) are the ones that come to mind right off hand. But if you are a hockey fan they have that too, that would be the Aeros!
11. Pensacola, Florida. Yes I promise its the last city I will put in here in Florida. I went to assist a neighbor with her little granddaughter. Besides the beaches, we went to several museums and to the Naval Museum. This was the coolest place. I got my first taste of a flight simulator. I walked around all day long with my mouth wide open seeing all the military memorabilia. Totally the coolest museum I have been to with very few exceptions.
12. College Station, Texas! My favorite place on earth! Home of Texas A&M! Yeah theres not much there unless you are an Aggie, which the town pretty much revolves around this school so that makes sense. My grandmother had a house just out side of this place, so I was born into the revolution! The library at the University will always and forever be my quiet place. But for fun and rowdy music, The Chicken is the place to be! I cant really explain the Chicken, but its a ton of fun!
13. Last but not least, Omaha, Nebraska. I live here now. There really isnt alot that brings people here unless you are a college baseball fan. This town hosts the mens College World Series every year. This event is about two weeks long and takes over our city. Thirteenth street is lined up with vendors of various kinds, and the smells of the baseball food are just delightful. On the opening day, when they introduce the teams, there is always a free concert and late that night a big firework show. People litterally sell parking spots in their front yards. It is crazy but God I love it. Omaha also has a wonderful zoo. The Henry Doorly Zoo is fantastic. There is a bird aviary, aquarium, jungle and the desert dome. The newest attraction is the Gorilla House. I could sit and watch the Gorillas all day, but my favorite is the Aquarium. There is a wonderful tunnel you walk through and see sea turtles and sharks swim right over you. I can sit in therre for hours. Recently there was an animal on exhibit in the desert dome that made me just sit and stare. There is an exhibit that is done in the dark with very little lighting and is set up like a swamp. In this there was a White Alligator. The only thing that kept him from being albino was that his eyes had pigment. He was the most beautiful thing in the world! Ok yeah there really is alot more I love in this city but you get the idea!

Name game is over!

Well last night we chose a name for the new little one. Little will end up being one heck of an understatement but its all relative. He is a beauty. The name we have chosen ended up not even being German, like we had originally wanted. The boys named him last night while I was at work and he is now going by the name General Patton. Yeah, you can tell I didnt pick it out. But he has started responding to it. He doesnt even act like hes an adopted dog except for the fact that he acts like he is scared to be out of our site. We have a permanent shadow now. If one of us leaves the room thats ok, but if the other leaves he is very alert and ready to follow. Poor baby was kept in a kennel for 12 or more hours a day with his previous owners, so I think he has a little seperation anxiety. Good thing is between Adams job, my job and school and Carey's job, he wont be home alone often enough to bother him. Adam works weekends over night. Im off weekends. Carey works Saturday through Monday during the day into the evening. And me I work alot! I work my Sunday to Thursday until 1230 at night and getting ready to play switcheroo with that again. So he will be well looked after! He sleeps like a rock and likes to lay on the bed, though he still has some trouble getting a good jump up there. As long as he has a good toy though he is happy.

Our new baby!

This is the newest addition to mine and Adam's family. He is a full blood, 9 month old, German Shepherd puppy. Right now he is 53.5 pounds and still growing! We havent really decided what we will call him. His name that the Humane Society gave him was Turk. But we want to give him a name that is from us. Now the debate will begin! We are open to suggestions. Adam really wants a German name since he is of German descent.

Thirteen Things I could not live with out!

1. My house slippers! Yep I have like 6 different pairs! My favorites are the fuzzy ballet type ones that are more like socks and have grippers on the bottom! They were a Christmas present from my Carey!

2. Hair clips! I have delusions of getting married one day and my hair being perfect, so I am chicken about cutting my hair. So I pull it up in a pony tail then clip the end up that way it doesnt get into my face!

3. My Cell Phone. My family is, for the most part in other states, so I would never be able to get along and function normally with out that bit of connection!

4. My Boyfriend, Adam! When I am going nutty then he brings me back down to earth.

5. Pencils! Yeah Im a mess sometimes and Ive found that if able to, I can write in pencil and make every thing neater!

6. Erasers! Like I said I am a mess sometimes, I have to have those erasers. They really come in handy when Im busy messing up!

7. Friends! I would certainly be lonely if I didnt have all of you guys to talk to!!

8. Love. Plain and simply put, it makes the world go round.

9. My Bible! I may not pick it up every day, or attend church regularly. My Bible is my bit of comfort and security when all else fails me.

10. God. Who else can you lean on sometimes? Who else knows absolutely every thing about you and loves you with out regard to it all? I would be nothing with out Him.

11. Make up! I may not wear it every day, but sometimes it just makes me feel better about myself!

12. Iced Tea! No sugar, completely unadulterated! I swear I dont make it through a day with out a tea craving!

13. Good Books! I love to read. It takes me to another world, its my bit of stress relief sometimes! I love my books.

Thirteen Memories of Maegen D. Atchley
***Just to remember a wonderful friend and all the fun and other good things she brought to my world. You will never be forgotten, Maegen.

1. I remember the first time I met you. Dinner at the Johnson's. You made me laugh completely through dinner and I think orange drink went every where.

2. Remember that time we were on our way home from the movies and we ran out of gas? Carey and I had to pee, so you were egging us on trying to get us to pee in a bottle? Then we ran out of gas and before the car could stop, we were both out of the car and on the side of the road! Chris wasnt too happy with us when he had to bail the four of us out at almost 1am!

3. Remember all our late nights swimming at the lake? That one night that big fish swam past you and I thought you were gonna drown trying to get out of the water! I certainly didnt want to get back in that night, but you sure as heck did.

4. I remember when we went to go see Passion of the Christ, you held my hand all the way through the movie all though you had already seen it! Later on was when you, Kristy, Carey and I ran out of gas...

5. Black Cats!! Thats enough said between me and you! I will never forget at Sonic that night when Casey told us that the Cops were looking for us! To think we only threw them at your brother!

6. You and Kristy were there as "first responders" the night my world felt like it was falling apart. You assured me that life would go on with out him, and that you guys would make sure of it. I never said thank you but I did appreciate that more than you ever knew.

7. All the summer softball games that we would go watch you play! Then usually take your stinky self to the local mexican food restrant. Good times, good times.

8. Remember when Kristy, Katherine and I moved to the new place in Jewett? You spent the first night after we got the air and all going with us and it stormed really bad. You made fun of me for being such a bad weather whimp.

9. I remember when you got your first car! You were so proud, you wanted to drive it everywhere!

10. Remember when you baby brother got that kitten that summer? That little grey kitten was like demon cat. The dang thing attacked everything!

11. I remember being so bored on nights at work and you, Kristy and Carey would stop in to make sure I had some company! You always made me laugh.

12. Do you remember when we all went to the dollar store and bought those foam dart shooters? We ambushed every one that walked into the EMS station that night. That was soo much fun.

13. I began dating again and you and Kristy made fun of my choice of dates when we realized the one was prone to trouble! What did you guys call him again? Jail boy? Yeah those were the days.....

Maegen you are very loved and will be greatly missed. I will never forget you and all the silliness and fun you brought into my life! Thank you for being a great friend!

On a side note....
Thank you for the ones of you who either messaged me or emailed me or left a comment on my post from the other night entitled "why?" One day I aspire to understand why God tends to take the most wonderful people from us instead of the ones who are such bad people. why?

Why is it that we never see it coming? Why do tears never seem to help? Why do the innocent always seem to be the one affected?
Yes Im feeling a tad bitter tonight. I've lost so many in the last few months. Tonight I learned of another. A friend of mine, whom always made me laugh, was hit by a drunk driver after assisting a friend who had a flat tire. Now you tell me just how freaking fair that was??? Yes I am angry. She was doing something good, what did she get for it? She got killed! The worst part for me, her funeral is tomarrow, I will be here. I will be three states away crying my eyes out while they all say good bye.
I am so tired of all my friends dying at such young ages. I know I just said it, but, its just not fair!!!!
Maegen was a wonderful person, she was smart, funny and super talented. This was her senior year of high school. She was a volunteer fire fighter. She has two brothers who gave her a hell of a hard time, but loved her so much. Her mom just recently got married again. Her dad is a pretty neat guy too. Every one who came around her couldnt help but catch her infectious smile and laugh at her silliness.
I LOVE YOU MAEGEN.

updates

So its been a while since I updated you guys, I mean really updated. I started my new quarter at school last week. So yeah my lifes been so busy. I go to work Sunday threw Wednesday from 630 pm to 0230 am, then get up for school at 1000 am every morning Monday threw Friday. I also work on Saturday from 330pm to 1130 pm. So for the moment I have no days where I have a day Im not committed to work or school, or both. Im exhausting myself fast!

We have still been house hunting. We decided to make another offer on a house we previously made a few offers and counters on. Well we got the word tonight the gentleman(jerk) selling this house, finally accepted and is signing paper work. So now we are just waiting to get that paperwork so that we can sign and get our loan stuff underway. Luckily for us we have already been preapproved so it wont take too long. Hopefully we will have closed out the deal by the first week of the year. But Im so gun shy at this point, I am not ready to get excited until the day they hand us the keys. Thats the day I will get excited. So you guys cross your fingers.

On the job front, Adam has been aching for a new job, only holding off because of our house stuff. Looks like he may have found a new job for the beginning of the year. Sweet! Now I only say maybe, due to the fact that he wont officially accept it until the house paperwork is finished. This job however would give us more time together, since we would work similar hours. It would make both of us happy in that aspect. He would have more time to do the things he loves, like ride his bike. Im just hoping that will fall in to place for him. He needs something that will not depress him every day. His current job does just that, only because his boss blames him for every thing (even his boss's mess ups).

Edition #7

Thirteen Influential people in my life....

1. Lillian Margarite Moore- My Nana. She was a wonderful woman and taught me much about character, strength, and bravery. No matter how sick she got, she never complained and never felt sorry for herself. She carried herself with grace and dignity up until the brutal end. She always made me feel special and loved and I miss her very greatly.

2. Oletha Pilkington- My Great-Grandma. I remember when my mom told us about her cancer. I was in the first grade. I cried for hours that night. The next day mom let me stay home from school. That day she took me to see her. I didnt know how to react to her being sick, as I was a child. But I definetly understood the fact that she was dying and nothing would save her. It was a year later that she did pass away. I learned so much about love from her. Though my mother was her grandchild. She raised her as her own, so that her own mother could do as she pleased. She was the most selfless person I ever knew. I cherish every photo, memory and story I have of her.

3. Elaine Sorensen- This is my mother! I couldnt say enough to express what impact my mom has had on my life. She is a truly wonderful person. As we grew up, she was usually the only parent at home, as my father worked on the road. She was a total support system for not only her own four kids but to many of the kids we went to school with. My senior year of high school, she was the emergency contact for 25 of the kids at my school. In my four years, she missed exactly 2 of our total of 48 football games. She was the leading parent chaperone at our school and she was well respected by all the students and faculty. She has held my hand through countless breast exams, as I shook with fear. She has sat up with me when I was so sick I could barely move. She saved me when I was so depressed that even people I knew from childhood, didnt recognize the shell I had become. She is and always has been, my saving grace!

4. Hope Maureen Moore- "the munchkin" - My baby sister. No matter what I am going through, she sits up with me on the phone late at night while I cry. We share every thing. She joined the military after I couldnt. She is making dreams come true for me and her, even though I am not there. She is a true fighter, born prematurely, living in an incubator for her first few months. I remember not being able to see her until she was almost two months old. When mom and dad brought her home, I crawled on the back of Grandma's couch over my mom, and stared at that tiny baby. When I reached out to touch her, my mom guided me gently as I was scared to touch her, afraid she might break. I had never seen anything so tiny. I would stare at her for hours, and watch gaurd as if some one would hurt her. From the day my parents brought her home, she amazed me with her strength. I dont know what I would do with out my precious munchkin.

5. William Sorensen- My step father. He has done so much for me, I dont know how I could ever thank him enough. He makes my mom extremely happy, and he makes us all laugh. He is really a good man and I love him! I cant imagine not having him in my family! Even though I am not his kid, he treats me as if I am.

6. Kristy Sue-My very best friend in the entire world. She came into my life at the tender age of 4. We got thrown together because our older siblings were in Kindergarden together. Our moms would stick us in the corner to play while they helped with their classroom activities. Then we were assigned the same classes K-2nd grade. We were both devastated when our class assignments were different in the 3rd grade and begged that our parents have one of us switched. But they didnt. I guess we needed the time apart. Mid year our 4th grade year, I moved away. Being as close as we were, our moms made sure we still got to see each other. We would meet half way (a good 4-5 hour drive for each family) and exchange kids. I would go to her house for a week or two in the summer, she would then return for a week or two with me. Some times if we were lucky, our parents would trade us over holiday breaks too! IT was always the high light of my year. Then when we moved back to Texas, we got to see each other more frequently. Instead of a date, I would plan in advance to have her be my "date" to our formal affairs for school. Then at 15, two days after school let out, her mom called to talk to my mom. Kristy was pregnant. From then on we both grew up fast. I wouldnt let her do that alone. After high school, we became room mates and she shared her daughter with me. I learned so much about kids from her little girl. Kristy has been my angel since childhood, I dont know what I would have done with out her all these years. Shes my blessing!

7. Kevin Andrew- My best guy friend in the whole universe! We met, really met, in my freshman year. My sister had decided we needed to be together. So yeah we dated for about 6 months. After that we settled into a friendship type relationship. As our time passed we became almost inseperable. I hated all his girlfriends, even the ones that were my friends, he detested my boy friends. No one was good enough for either of us in the other's eyes. We really looked out for one another. We did alot of things together. We had so many inside jokes and confidences, we could talk in codes. No one would understand anything we were saying except us. It really annoyed alot of the people who wanted to be included. When he started dating one of my close friends, she really got jealous of our comments that every one else ignored. She couldnt understand any of our codes. The longer she tried to understand, the more she didnt. I dont think a single person ever figured out any of our conversations unless we did it intentionally. Then that code would change meaning. I would take his jackets when I forgot mine, in choir, I would take his tux jacket, because it was warm and I was always cold. I took priority alot over his girlfriends in this aspect. They would be mad when they looked down the hall and saw me walking around in his jackets! We had numerous classes together, in which we were usually put on opposite sides of the class due to our talkative nature. Kevin has cried with me, fought for me, and talked sense into me more than most. I really am greatful for him!

8. Renee Stripling- My high school dance instructor. I was on her dance team for four years. Three of which I was some sort of officer. She chaperoned me to the ER at camp one year when I tore out my knee! She listend to me cry and held me when I needed some one to just hug me while I cried. She showed me that life took courage, strength and faith. In those four years I saw her become a mother, go through cancer, and place her husband lovingly to rest. The day he died, I watched her fall apart, then show us all that she would survive, with her little boy at her side. She taught me so much more than just dance and I loved her as my own mother. She would contemplate my punishments with my mother when I had done something worthy of punishment. Then I would get her famous leadership lecture. I respected her above all the teachers at school, though she was only one of the beloved ones I had.

9. Claudia Lamascus- My high school drama teacher. My freshman year she was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts. She shared all of it with us. She shaved her head at school. She even tested our classes out when she was ready to stop wearing hats and wigs. She would get this look on her face then raise her hand. To this the whole class would respond by pounding the desks in unison saying do it, in chanting form. She would then remove the wig. She taught us all how to deal with illness by leaning on the ones who love you for strength. She would have group discussion days once a month. During these discussions we felt free to openly discuss any of our problems with not just her, but the entire drama class. She taught us to become family. She taught me so many life lessons, and I love her to this day, though I know not where she is.

10. Adam Michael- My rock, My love. Every thing I do anymore, I think about how it will affect not just me but him. He kisses me in the morning when he is leaving for work, though I am still very grogy and barely respond. He greets me each evening with a warm embrace and a big smile. In my time of greatest need, he befriended me and made me feel self worth again. He restored alot of confidence. Makes sure every day that I know I am totally loved by him, even if I feel all alone at times. He cooks me dinner and cleans our kitchen! If I really want something, he will find a way to make it possible! Though not all things are attainable, he treats me like I am the only person who matters. He is my prince! He makes me the happiest person in the world, even on the days that I feel like poo. When I am sick, he takes care of me. When I need help with my home work, he will do his best to make sure I learn it! I dont know what I would be doing right now with out him. But I do know that I never want to lose him!

11. Mary Underwood- My favorite Aunt. She recently has shared so much with me, making me to feel comfortable to bare my deepest secrets to her. She has always been special to me. But lately shes become so much more special to me. She lets me tell her things I would never tell any one in the strictest of confidences. She will give me her honest opinions on my plights with out ever judging me.

12. Lisa Christine Moore- My older sister. I may complain about her alot. But she really is a wonderful person when she gets out of her daily (constant) bitch mode. This mode is one she willingly admits to. I very much look forward to seeing her again, and meeting her new addition when he or she is born. I wish she lived closer to me, but we all chose our paths. Hers just isnt here, its in a place of her own. I miss her very much and wish nothing but the best of things for her. She makes me laugh because under the bitch appearance she really is a great person and fun to be around. She freely speaks her mind and puts up a very tough front, but she gets hurt very easily. Most never see her soft side, and she doesnt trust easily, but she can be the nicest person once you do win her over. Just dont step on her, cause once her can is open you better run.

13. This space I will leave for the number of people I didnt list, such as Chris and Donna Johnson- my second set of parents who love me like their own. Doug and Carey Johnson who put up with me and Kristy for every thing we did! Katherine Rodriguez- my beautiful god daughter who has taught me so much and whom I love more than anything! My dad even though he hasnt always been there, his ways have taught me about doing things the right way instead of the wrong way. Matthew, my baby brother who may annoy the crud out of me, but always makes me laugh! My memother who may not always make me feel as if I am important but always loves me. I could name a lot of people but I will stop as you guys who have read all of this are now into a good sized novel!

Edition #6

Thirteen things that I loved as a child!

1. GI JOE.... Oh yes I was the ultimate tom boy. I would have rather had GI Joe over Barbie anyday of the week! When my older sister would annoy me, her barbies got hair cuts!

2. Sesame Steet! I especially loved Snufalufagus! I know I probably spelled it wrong, but oh well. I just loved me some Sesame Street!

3. Troll dolls, I bet I had 100 of those ugly little, wild haired dolls. I had them in many sizes, shapes and colors! They were just the coolest to me.

4. Beating up any one at school who dared to upset my older sister, at least until the 5th grade. I figured if anyone had the right to piss her off or hurt her feelings, it was me, no one else. I was dead serious about it too! Then I realized that she thought it was funny and let her suffer.

5. The Smurfs! How they heck was there only one girl anyways?

6. I was much like Dennis the Menice as a child. Mom never knew what I was going to get into. To say it worried her is to say the very least! Did I mention that we lived in the woods??? I would bring home frogs, turtles and various insects in my pockets, then usually chase said older sister with them. She still hates frogs....

7. Afternoon an Saturday morning cartoons, I mean come one it was things like She-Ra, He-Man and X-Men. Why bother with the cartoons the kids watch today!

8. Writing on chalboards. For a while we lived in this really old house, and I figured out I could write with the chalk on the walls and it would wash right off! God did that ever get me into trouble with my mom!!!

9. Bath Time! Lets face it, I was a very adventurous kid. Bath time represented room for so much of that! Only I was limited cause mom learned early what a mess I could and would make in the bath tub if she let me have a toy or two in there. So All I got was a bar of soap and the wash cloth, but I wouldnt come out till the water was cold!

10. Puppies! We had a beautiful Australian Shephard, named Gracie. Every time she had puppies, my mom would catch me outside with her and the babies at all hours of the night. I mean they were so cute and little and the dog let me in her area from day one!

11. Care Bears! I loved them! They were so fun, they werent a threat to my tom boyish ways. Or at least not the way I saw it! They were just teddy bears and that was good to me!

12. Hot wheels/ Micro machines! yeah I had a little brother, so there was a cache of wealth that I could have access to at all times! Who needed barbies dream car, i could play with dozens of cars at once!

13. Climbing trees! I would climb them as high as I could, many a time, only to come down when mom acted as if she may faint from how high I was. She always thought I was gonna break something! I never did, but I can recall a few times that I thought I might!

Now Im just depressed...

Well even though we made an offer on this house, full asking price offer, we still didnt get it. NOO. Some other person made an offer that weekend, the same freaking offer. Ours was in first, and they took that persons offer. At this point, I am scared to even try again. I want a house! I want to get out of that way too small apartment. Every time I look at a house, I want to cry. Poor Adam feels like theres a conspiracy against us. I cant lie, I kind of feel that way too. Every time we have liked a house, some one else gets it right from under us. This time we offer the full asking price, and some one else still got it! What the fuck??? Excuse my language please. Im really that frustrated. Sigh......

Waiting again....

So we are, again, waiting. We went to see a house on Saturday morning. We really werent expecting it to be one that would impress us. But it did. It needs minor cosmetic repair, and some love, but it is in great shape. So we made an offer right there. Now we are just waiting to see what the freaking seller has to say about our offer. They cant counter with much because we actually offered all the asking. So heres to crossing our fingers! Hopefully tomarrow night I will have a victorious amount of news!

Edition #5

Thirteen Things on my mind this week....

1. Houses, why are all these sellers being totally impossible!!??!!

2. How can we go from a really good day to shit in 2 minutes flat??

3. I love holidays, I hate holidays.... seems Adam is always some where other than with me. Yeah Im just being over sensitive. But in all honesty I understand why he wants to go to his family things alone. We get hassled about getting married so badly if we are both there. I dont really want to deal with that shit this week!

4. Hmmmm.... Texas A&M vs University of Texas game on Friday! KILL THE BEEF! BEVO ITS WHATS FOR DINNER! Go AGGIES!

5. Why in the world am I really getting up with my mother on Friday morning to go to all these stores? There really isnt anything in specific that I want to buy for anyone anyways.

6. Have I mentioned, damn house sellers are getting on my nerves? Oh well have another showing on Saturday!

7. I started a new book yesterday! Not really a new book, Ive read it before and its really old. Its Elvis and Me by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley. I love books about him.

8. I still have no clue what I am supposed to be making for our family dinner at my moms tomarrow! Geeze!

9. Kelly Pickler! That girl gets on my nerves. She sounds like a cat got a claw in her tongue when she sings. I think my version of hell would be me stuck in an elevator with her music playing! I really wonder why anyone gave that twit a recording contract.

10. I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE MY JOB!!!!

11. I miss my sisters, Lisa and Hope the munchkin.

12. Katherine and Kristy. They had a really rough week and I have had no time to call them. I feel like the worst friend in the world.

13. Schools out!!!! For a few weeks anyways!!!

Houston, Its a no go!

Ok so we got the sellers counter again today. They still havent budged, so I told them where to kiss it. So we are still on the house market. Looks like we wont be out of this apartment for a while. But thats how it goes I suppose. That just means that I get to put up my Christmas Tree tomarrow!!! Yehaw! Yay for Christmas! I love decorating, had we gotten that house, I would have closed on December 21st so we wouldnt have put up the tree. Now Im excited about that even though I am disappointed with the idea of losing that house. But hey it happens, and we will find a house when the house is right.

Still Waiting!

So the seller made a counter offer. Get this, they only dropped their asking price by $995. What! My mom has the same house, in a different neighbor hood! She paid alot less for the house. So..... I told my agent that, who passed this info along to the seller. Now we are getting ready to counter their counter offer. Yeah I play hard ball! I want this house but not at the crazy amount these whack jobs are asking!!!

Waiting....

So this weekend we have done a whole lot of hurry up and wait. Incase you are wondering why, we offered on a different house. This time a much nicer house near both of our families. It is a house we like a lot more than the one we originially offered on. I am trying very hard not to be excited, you know just incase they say no. Adam is ready to negotiate though, and this time he is really wanting to get this house. So we will see what happens! The sellers have until Monday at 6pm central time to respond to our offer! So lets all keep those fingers crossed!

Just for laughs I will tell you about our adventures at Kohls today. Taking Adam shopping for clothing for him is always challenging. He hates spending money that much. Well today there was just no getting around it. From day to day he wears dress clothing for work, so he doesnt wear blue jeans often. So the other night he was running around in his one and only good pair of blue jeans. Which shouldnt have been a problem, right? Well it was. When he decided to be silly and try to remove me from the chair I was sitting in, we heard it. RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!! Oh and it was not a small rip, no it was a big one. It went from one seem to the other right above his knee. So since the weather has been teasing us, trying to get cold, I convinced him to go buy new jeans today. Yeah what a trip. He took jeans in and stared at his butt for several minutes before he would show us what they looked like. Finally after around an hour he had a pair of jeans in hand, ready to be purchased! I swear he is soo picky! It was quite laughable though.
